Sorting is an applicable superstructure of the MicroStation system that is determined to change the data model (level, color, style etc.). The data model can be changed in the framework of one design or one design can be sorted into several designs.

     Sorting is marked by following properties:

• All the most important tools of the application are placed in the main dialog box.

• It is possible to specify texts and text nodes with other parameters.

• Elements that do not correspond with the set data model are duplicated and displayed with the attributes defined by the user.

• This application enables to make as much as 1000 settings of the element attributes.

• Easy find items of the data model...

• Identify elements in design (master and references) by cliking on element or "fly over element with cursor", and change attributes of element by data model ...

• This application enables to export and import the settings. The export/import file (*.csv)  has the text properties and therefore it is possible to edit it with the common text editors or MS Excel.

• The format of the export/import file enables to compile the exported data in some of the databases.

• A report is made about the change of the data model and it contains a list of the found faults.

• It is necessary to set the particular directories for the in-mass change of the data model.

• To sort one design in more designs it is necessary to define the extended names and data models according to which the sorting is going to be made. For example from the initial design situace.dgn is made the situace_a.dgn design that contains all the elements of the original design and that corresponds with the data model definition datamodel_a (symbology – enter). While making the final design there is also made a fault design  situace_bad.dgn which contains all those elements that were not possible to sort out.

• This application contains tools that enable to delete the default setting, all the settings and to make copy of the setting (duplication) etc.

• After the first start of the application there will be made the file sorting.rsc  in the directory structure (the variable MS_DATA) of the MicroStation, in which all recently set values will be saved – it means after the next start of the application Sorting will the values stay the same as they were with the previous start.
