Shapes is an applicable superstructure of the MicroStation system that enables to convert complex elements (complex strings and complex shapes) into primitive elements (shapes, line strings) while keeping the attributes (level, color, style etc.), properties (e.g. graphic group) and database linkages. It results in brilliant design size reduction.
Shapes is marked by following properties:
This application enables to convert the selected complex elements, the complex elements defined by a fence and all complex elements into basic elements of the MicroStation.
Elements of the arc type that can be part of the complex elements are converted into line strings with the possibility to define the number of inserted vertexes.
Those complex elements that are made by exactly concurred elements (e.g. lines) can be checked for duplicity, the user defines the toleration between the coordinates.
After the first start of the application there will be made the file shapes.rsc in the directory structure (the variable MS_DATA) of the MicroStation, in which all recently set values will be saved – it means after the next start of the application Shapes will the values stay the same as they were with the previous start.
Help of the Shapes application is available directly from MDL application Shapes on the internet.
Shapes is available for MicroStation V8i, PowerDraft V8i and Bentley Map PowerView V8i on the Windows XP/Vista/7/8 platform.
