SearchPattern is an applicable superstructure of the MicroStation system that completes the MicroStation tools Select By Attributes and PowerSelector with selection (marking) of the area elements according to their patterns and hatches.

   SearchPattern is marked by following properties:

• All the most important tolls of the application are placed in the main dialog box

• This application enables to select following area elements: ellipses, shapes and complex shapes. The elements can be selected in the framework of a fence or the whole design.

• The element selection can be specified by the attributes (level, style, color, weight).

• The hatches (patterns) can be specified by spacing, angles, scales, tolerances and cells.

• After the first start of the application there will be made the file  searchpattern.rsc  in the directory structure (the variable MS_DATA) of the MicroStation, in which all recently set values will be saved – it means after the next start of the application SearchPattern will the values stay the same as they were with the previous start.
