PlaceBy - enables to place texts and cells beside the linear elements – the turn angle is taken from the segment of the linear element and it is possible to change it – to add 90°. At the same time you can make associations between the linear element and the elements that are to be placed – texts or cells.
PlaceBy is marked by following properties:
The application can run in the background – you can not see the main dialog box, you can set up its commands by all standard means (command line, icon palette, MDL applications, MicroStation Basic, Select Settings in MicroStation etc.)
Before the very placement of the text or the cell according to the segment instruction of the linear element, it is possible to make the rotation of 90°.
The association means, that if the elements are in the same graphic group and MicroStation is set up for the work with the graphic groups, moving, deleting, copying etc. of one element in the graphic group calls out the same operation automatically for the other members of the same graphic group, this can be used e.g. at the association of the linear element and texts that are related to this element. If the MicroStation is not set up for the work with the graphic groups – association among the elements will not be applied.
After the first start of the application there will be made the file placeby.rsc in the directory structure (the variable MS_DATA) of the MicroStation, in which all recently set values will be saved – it means after the next start of the application PlaceBy will the values stay the same as they were with the previous start.
Help of the PlaceBy application is available directly from MDL application PlaceBy on the internet.
PlaceBy is available for MicroStation V8i, PowerDraft V8i and Bentley Map PowerView V8i on the Windows XP/Vista/7/8 platform.
