Journal application is determined for those who make graphic symbols libraries (cells, shared cells), or are their managers and need to make cell arrangements that are in the designs etc..
The Journal application enables to do operations easily with the graphic symbol library that are not thinkable in the MicroStation or these operations can be made only manually.
The Journal application enables:
To do formations of used cells in the main design, reference designs and the cell library
To sort out so made formations according to the name of the cell, its description, type, number etc.
To get the description data for the separate cell from the in advance prepared text file
To export selected cell into another cell library
To append cell libraries to the currant cell library
To convert the point cell into graphic and vice versa
To modify (change the attributes – colors, style etc.) the libraries or the selected cells
To delete the selected cells in the library
To change the cell scale in the library
To convert the name of the cells
To make a cell library from the cells that are in the active design
To compare the cells placed in the active MicroStation design with the cells available in the cell library
To replace cells in design with cells definition in library
After the first start of the application there will be made the file journal.rsc in the directory structure (the variable MS_DATA) of the MicroStation, in which all recently set values will be saved – it means after the next start of the application Journal will the values stay the same as they were with the previous start.
All the functions of the application are available in the dialog box by the help of the select keys or the pull-down menu, text fields and start keys.
Modification function enables to make large changes in symbology of separate cells directly in the library. Separate parameters might be “locked” and thereby suppress their influence on the performed modification.
Help of the Journal application is available directly from MDL application Journal on the internet.
Journal is available for MicroStation V8i, PowerDraft V8i and Bentley Map PowerView V8i on the Windows XP/Vista/7/8 platform.
